The P700 is an RTU designed to
reduce the operating cost of oil wells using sucker rod pumps. The major benefits to be realized from
using such a unit are to reduce the frequency of service rig calls, to reduce
hot oil and chemical treatments to an as-needed basis, and to reduce
unscheduled down time via remote monitoring.
The DrSCADA P700 “POC” or
Pump Off Controller uses load and stroke instruments as its principal inputs,
but it also supports other analog or digital measurement devices, such as
pressure transmitters and stuffing box status inputs. Sites that are particularly sensitive
to pollution commonly use a stuffing box input switch as an optional shutdown
control. For high producing wells
that do not pump off, the P700 provides unique calculations that allow
operations to see losses in Pumping System Efficiency TM, and potential production
losses before any shutdowns occur.
DrSCADA also manufactures a PC based SCADA master to provide data
gathering from, and control to the POC.
